The Training Committee has the a responsibility of scheduling, promoting and conducting Scouter Development Training, a spiritual seminar for adult leaders of the Catholic faith. A second responsibility is to schedule, promote and conduct Chaplain Aide Training for Scouts. Finally, the Training Committee assists those Scouters interested in attending a one week course Scouting in the Catholic Church conducted each summer at Philmont Training Center.

The Scouter Development: Lay Apostolate Formation for Scouting program is designed to help Scouters to a better understanding of the role of religious faith in their lives. The work done in Scouting is a true ministry. As adults we are witnessing not only to our own faith commitment, but we are also trying to help Scouts make a personal faith commitment. The course is offered twice a year and lasts about 5 hours. See the calendar for dates and location.

Each summer the National Catholic Committee on Scouting conducts a one-week training course, Scouting in the Catholic Church, at the Philmont Training Center. The Training Committee can assist interested Scouters in applying for this great experience. Partial scholarships are sometimes available for active members of the FWDCCS.
